Marketing Manager Receives Top Award at AEJMC

Tampa, FL – August 3, 2009 – Shanna Kurpe, Marketing Manager for Roger West Creative and Code, a marketing company specializing in web design and web development, has won the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication’s (AEJMC) Minorities and Communication (MAC) Division TOP FACULTY RESEARCH PAPER for her paper titled, "Coverage of Serious Health Risks: A Content Analysis of Popular Women’s Magazines Targeting Hispanics".

AEJMC is a membership organization with more than 4,000 academic and professional members from universities, colleges, and businesses from around the nation within the field of Journalism and Mass Communication -- from advertising and public relations to electronic and online communication. “As a premier marketing company it’s important that we stay on top of new research and changing technologies within our field.” says Kurpe. “I am grateful for this opportunity to attend the conference and to learn about the successes, challenges and discoveries of my colleagues across the nation.”

As an AEJMC member and award recipient, Shanna Kurpe will attend the AEJMC Annual Convention August 5-8th, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts to receive her award and present her research as a member of the panel titled, HEALING HANDS OF THE ETHNIC MEDIA. Other presentations will cover topics related to social media, web 2.0, interactive communication, advertising and marketing among others.
