Roger West Releases Sitefinity XML Sitemap User Control

Tampa, FL – October 12, 2009 – Roger West Creative and Code, a Tampa Bay area creative agency specializing in bridging the gap between marketing and technology has released a free XML Sitemap User Control compatible with Sitefinity 3.5 and later.

An XML sitemap is a critical component to search engine optimization, which is the process of improving a website’s natural search results through optimized website content, HTML coding and by removing indexing barriers for search engines. To begin ranking within organic search results, webmasters must first submit an XML sitemap of their website and its accessible URLs to search engines.

To make search engine submissions easier, the XML Sitemap User Control automates the process of creating an XML sitemap in accordance to the Sitemap protocols for informing search engines about URLs on a website. The user control creates an XML file that lists all of the URLs on a website that are available for crawling. The XML file uses the same protocol that is used by the biggest search engines, including Google, MSN, Yahoo! and Ask.
