User Control Description

The Create Sitemap user control facilitates the page creation process. This user control is particularly useful when creating new web sites or when adding many pages to an existing web site.

Currently, the page creation process requires a user to manually create each individual page and set its properties, then select a template and optionally add content. The reality is that page content is rarely finalized although a web site's sitemap may have been defined. In such cases, this user control allows for the quick creation of web site pages.

Given an initial sitemap, the user control quickly and easily creates the Sitefinity equivalent. The following is an example of a text-based sitemap that can be used by the Create Sitemap user control to automatically create web site pages:

The control provides several properties for customizing the newly created Sitefinity pages:

1. General: Show in navigation
2. Security: Anonymous access, Require SSL
3. Performance: Disable ViewState, Enable Caching
4. Search Options: Index page
5. Template (select from available templates)
